On the morning of February 6, 2024, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan and the working delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade made a visit to extend Tet greetings to the officers, employees, and workers of Petrolimex Saigon. The purpose of the visit was also to inspect the activities related to ensuring the fuel supply during the Lunar New Year.
The working delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, included leaders from the Planning and Finance Departments, the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Electricity Regulation Department, the Industrial Safety and Environmental Department, the General Market Management Department, the Domestic Market Department, the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development Department, and the Ministry's Office.
On the side of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), the delegation was welcomed by Board Member - Deputy General Director Tran Ngoc Nam and the leaders of the Retail Business Department, International Trade Department, Supply Assurance Department, and the Business Policy and Wholesale Department, as well as the Group's Office.
At the welcome of the delegation at Petrolimex Saigon, Chairman of the company Vo Van Tan, Director Pham Anh Tuan, the Board of Directors, and leaders of various departments within the company were present.
At the Nha Be Oil Terminal, the Deputy Minister directly inspected the operations of the warehouse, visited the export dock, and the central control room to assess the measures in place to ensure the supply of petroleum products for the market during the Lunar New Year.
The Director of the Nha Be Oil Terminal, Bui Cong Minh, reported on the production organization plan, the arrangement of staff for cargo dispatch, and the absolute security measures during the Tet holiday. According to the report, the ship importing activities continued throughout the festive period, with enhanced coordination with relevant units such as Center 3, the Customs Department at Saigon Port, and transportation units to ensure the efficiency of import-export operations.
After the inspection at the Warehouse, the Deputy Minister proceeded to examine the organization of sales activities at Gas Station No. 1, which is under the Saigon Petroleum Branch. The Director of the Saigon Petroleum Branch, Nguyen Thanh Hai, reported on the organization of sales activities during the Lunar New Year.
Specifically, with 72 stations in Ho Chi Minh City, 45 stations in the inner city will operate continuously 24/7 during the Tet holiday, while the suburban stations will operate from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Emphasis was placed on ensuring safety measures at the stations during this period.
At the headquarters of Petrolimex Saigon - 15 Le Duan, District 1, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan and the working delegation continued to have a working session with the company regarding the supply assurance activities. Reporting to the delegation, Chairman of the Company Vo Van Tan affirmed that, in addition to ensuring an adequate supply of petroleum products for the market and organizing sales throughout Tet, Petrolimex Saigon has closely collaborated with the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Transport to allow petroleum transport vehicles to circulate within the city during peak hours to timely meet the pre, during, and post-Tet goods demand.
In his directive statement during the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan extended New Year wishes to all the leadership, officers, employees, and workers of Petrolimex Saigon. He expressed his impression of the scale of infrastructure and the professional working style of Petrolimex Saigon. Emphasizing the importance of petroleum products as essential commodities, the Deputy Minister urged Petrolimex to closely adhere to the guidance of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry and Trade in ensuring the supply and meeting the best needs of the people.
Tran Ngoc Nam, Board Member and Deputy General Director of the Group, pledged to absorb and promptly implement the directives from the Deputy Minister. He also committed that Petrolimex would earnestly carry out the directions of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure a stable petroleum supply, stabilize the market, and ensure national energy security.
During the visit and working session, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade also extended Tet greetings and distributed gifts to the workers of Petrolimex Saigon at the Petroleum Warehouse in Nha Be, the Saigon Petroleum Branch, and the employees working at the company's headquarters.
