On the afternoon of March 13, 2026, at the seminar titled “Solutions to Promote Double-Digit Growth from Traditional and New Drivers in the Context of Ensuring Energy Stability in Ho Chi Minh City,” the Chairman of Petrolimex Saigon delivered a presentation on the topic “The Role of Petrolimex Saigon in Ensuring Energy Supply for Ho Chi Minh City's Economic Growth.”
The seminar was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyễn Văn Được – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; and Mr. Nguyễn Lộc Hà – Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The event also welcomed City leaders, representatives of various departments and agencies, business associations, research institutes, and many economic experts.
To accomplish the goal of achieving double-digit economic growth in 2026, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City identified this as a mission of exceptional importance. The City has outlined several key tasks, including the synchronous implementation of the resolutions of the Central Government; the issuance of the socio-economic development plan for 2026; clear assignment of responsibilities to each unit; and the promotion of administrative reform linked with improving the performance of the two-tier local government system.
At the seminar, participants exchanged and discussed numerous economic solutions aimed at achieving the City's double-digit growth target. These solutions included short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategies, as well as response plans for fluctuations in the global energy market, particularly the development of scenarios to cope with the impacts of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Presenting the paper titled “The Role of Petrolimex Saigon in Ensuring Energy Supply for Ho Chi Minh City's Economic Growth,” Chairman Võ Văn Tân affirmed that Petrolimex Saigon has been, is, and will continue making efforts to ensure a stable, safe, and uninterrupted energy supply for the City's business activities and socio-economic development.
In particular, amid global energy market volatility caused by geopolitical tensions, Petrolimex is willing to sacrifice profits to ensure domestic energy supply stability.
To contribute to Ho Chi Minh City's goal of achieving double-digit growth and ensuring energy stability, Petrolimex Saigon proposed several key strategic solutions:
Closely monitoring market developments and proactively securing supply
Petrolimex Saigon actively formulates supply plans, optimizes logistics operations, ensures stable and uninterrupted supply, and maintains appropriate inventory levels in all circumstances to continuously support production, business operations, and the daily needs of the City's residents.
Strengthening supply for the manufacturing sector and key project
In the context of Ho Chi Minh City implementing numerous large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects, Petrolimex Saigon focuses on expanding supply for manufacturing enterprises, construction projects, and energy infrastructure developments, contributing to stable fuel availability for production and economic growth.
Developing the retail network and enhancing distribution capacity to consumers
The Company continues expanding its network, modernizing and automating petrol stations, and improving service quality to meet the growing energy demands of transportation and consumer activities in the City.
Promoting green energy transition and digital transformation
Petrolimex in general, and Petrolimex Saigon in particular, has consistently been a pioneer in introducing clean and environmentally friendly fuel products, such as Euro 5-compliant fuels since 2018, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) since August 15, 2025, and E10 biofuel since August 2025. Additionally, the Company is accelerating the application of digital technologies in governance and supply-chain management to enhance operational efficiency.
At the seminar, Chairman Võ Văn Tân also presented several recommendations to Ho Chi Minh City to support the implementation of the above solutions. He expressed his confidence that, with close cooperation between the government, enterprises, and the broader economic community, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to maintain its position as the nation’s economic powerhouse and achieve strong growth in the coming period.
