On the morning of July 18, 2024, at 15 Le Duan Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Petroleum Branch under Petrolimex Saigon held a conference to review business activities for the first half of the year and outline key tasks for Q3.2024.
Attending and directing the conference were Mr. Vo Van Tan, Chairman of Petrolimex Saigon, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Company, along with the Company’s leadership and representatives from various departments/centers. From Saigon Petroleum Branch, the attendees included the Branch's management board, the Chairman of the Trade Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union, heads/deputy heads of operational departments, the repair team leader, and managers of affiliated gas stations. The conference was chaired by the Branch Director, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai.
Assessing the business results of first half 2024, Director Nguyen Thanh Hai acknowledged the challenges posed by intense market competition across all sales channels, particularly franchising and other service-product businesses. Although the economy of Ho Chi Minh City is gradually recovering, the volatile global oil prices have impacted the market's business results and the Branch specifically.
Despite these challenges, the dedication of Saigon Petroleum Branch’s employees, adherence to directives from the Group/Company, and effective sales management have yielded positive results: ensuring overall safety in business operations, retail fuel sales achieving 52% of the plan and growing by 7% year-over-year (YoY), PJICO insurance revenue reaching 55% of the plan with an 11% YoY increase, service revenue hitting 52% of the plan at 95% of last year’s figures, opening a new gas station No. 84 on May 1, 2024, bringing the total to 80 gas stations. The Branch also led successful implementation of e-invoicing programs, adding vehicle license plate numbers to e-receipts, supporting franchise customers with e-invoicing per sale, and various major programs from the Group/Company such as APP installations introducing gas station locations on the website. They completed training for 975 employees on occupational safety, environmental protection, invoice reporting-control, communication skills, and commercial etiquette; organized sports exchange programs, and a "Cashless Payment & E-invoice Management" contest celebrating the 35th anniversary of Saigon Petroleum Branch (August 1, 1989 - August 1, 2024); ensuring job security and increasing employee income.
For Q3 2024, Director Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized the need for departments and gas stations to focus on achieving the 2024 targets set by the Group/Company. This includes absolute safety in all operations, particularly financial safety by closely monitoring debts and sales, regularly inspecting and evaluating non-cash payment methods and national sales, and promptly addressing operational issues to enhance sales services. Continued implementation of suitable sales policies, boosting marketing efforts, customer care, flexible commission handling based on market conditions, and effectively utilizing the Group's additional discount policies to retain and grow the customer base. Developing specific solutions and effective sales policies to increase lubricant sales across all channels, investing in upgrading gas stations as planned, and expanding the retail network. Managing costs well, enhancing compliance with Group/Company/Branch regulations at gas stations, and organizing significant, meaningful, and cost-effective activities to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Saigon Petroleum Branch.
In his directive, Chairman Vo Van Tan recognized and appreciated the achievements of Saigon Petroleum Branch's employees in H1 2024. He urged Saigon Petroleum Branch to strive for effective business organization, especially in franchising and lubricants, focusing on several specific tasks:
