On the morning of March 30, 2014, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and the high ranking delegation of the Fatherland Front visited and worked with Petrolimex Singapore.
This visit is subsequent to the visit from 27-29 March to Singapore sponsored by Singapore People League, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan and his entourage worked with Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Vice Premier and Minister of Finance, Ms Amy Khor, Minister of State at the Human Resource Ministry and Mr. Ang Hak Seng, Director General of Singapore People League.
Welcoming Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan at the head office of Petrolimex Singapore were Director General of Petrolimex Group (Petrolimex) Tran Van Thinh, Director of Petrolimex Cabinet Nguyen Van Su, Petrolimex Singapore Chairman-Director Nguyen Quang Tuan and the staff of Petrolimex Singapore.

At the working session, Director General Tran Van Thinh reported to Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan on the building of the first representative office to the shifting to a branch company and onward to the status of the present company
Although facing with a lot of difficulties, Petrolimex Singapore staff with a high determination and dedication have outstandingly fulfilled the entrusted tasks. Apart from assuring the supply of petroleum products for national demand, the company has been expanding the supply to South East and South Asia markets like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia… . Besides the main transactions in oil business, the company made use of the advantageous location of Singapore as the hub for shipping, goods and services, financial and energy…and successfully opened the sectors of shipping agents, financial, ship leasing and chartering.

Reporting to Fatherland Front Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan said: In 2013, Petrolimezx Singapore achieved a turnover of 3.8 US billions and the volume reached 5 million tons of oils, that is five times the volume at the time of shifting from the branch company to the company (2009). From the day of establsihment of the branch company in 2004 to end of 2013, the aggregate profit after tax Petrolimex Singapore remited to Vietnam amounted to 16.7US millions.

After listening to reports by Petrolimex Director General and Petrolimex Singapore Chairman and Director, Vietnam Fatherland Front Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan congratulated the achievemnt made recently, highly valued the productivity and proficiency of Petrolimex Singapore staff, and streessed that Petrolimex Singapore shiould make full use of the economic infrastructure, legal system and the trading and services center of Singapore in order to map out specific strategy for business, to complete the polivies and regimes in and out of the country aiming at having suitable policies to encourage high skilled labours to conti8nue to devote. Singapore policy to attr4act talented manpower was one of the topics that drew the special attention of Vietnam Fatherland Front Chairman this time.
