On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), the delegation from Petrolimex Saigon, led by comrade Vo Van Tan - Party Secretary - Chairman of the Company, came to lay flowers, offer incense, and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at the Truong Son National Cemetery, the National Cemetery of Road 9 Martyrs, the ancient city of Quang Tri, and the special national historical site of Dong Loc Junction.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Labor Union, Veterans Association, Youth Union, and leaders of the affiliated units and functional departments of the Company.
Visiting the Truong Son National Cemetery (Ben Tat area, Vinh Tuong commune, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province), where 10,200 martyrs rest peacefully, having valiantly fought and sacrificed on the legendary Truong Son trail, the delegation took a moment to commemorate and express deep gratitude for the selfless contributions of these brave soldiers who shed their blood and made sacrifices in the struggle for national liberation and reunification.
With a total area of 13 hectares, the National Martyrs Cemetery of Road 9, the resting place of 9,500 heroic martyrs, was also visited by the delegation to pay tribute and offer incense, expressing profound gratitude to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
In the ancient city of Quang Tri, the delegation visited and received introduction about the heroic and resilient fighting process to protect the old Citadel and Quang Tri town during the intense 81-day fight in the summer of 1972. The battle at the old Citadel has been engraved in the national history as a shining milestone in the war against the United States to save the country, achieving independence and reunification of the nation.
Previously, Comrade Vo Van Tan, the Party Secretary - Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the Company, on behalf of the Leadership Committee and the workers of Petrolimex Saigon, offered flowers and incense at the Special National Historical Site of Dong Loc Junction, the place where 10 young female heroes sacrificed themselves while they were filling bomb craters at Dong Loc Junction. This place has become an immortal landmark in history, a proud and sacred address, a beautiful symbol of revolutionary heroism, forever a place of patriotic education, national pride, and inspiration for the present and future generations.
Gratitude to the Fallen Heroes on July 27th is one of the regular activities of Petrolimex Saigon, aiming to uphold the moral values of "When you drink water, honor the source" and "Gratitude is the sign of noble souls." The company cherishes the contributions of those who dedicated themselves to the revolution and highly values the great achievements of the previous generations.
In the face of the noble sacrifices made by the Fallen Heroes for peace and national independence, which allow the country to live in harmony today, the laborers of Petrolimex Saigon pledge to strive and overcome challenges to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks. They are determined to contribute their efforts along with the entire nation in building a wealthy, prosperous, and warm Vietnam.
